The photographic portrait of David Byrne is a Mapplethorpe. That guy did some absolutely great portraits!
Anyway, this is a study in drawing failure, for future reference.
Also: David Byrne might be a robot… Look at those features: perfectly ordinary. Handsome. Just the right amount of asymmetry to pass as human.
Perhaps it is this ordinariness in all facial proportions that make an inexpert draftsman like me unable to capture it. The “it” of his face, I mean.
